OpenStudio-Standards won't load

In the past few weeks we've been creating our country's standard file (openstudio-standards) based on the NREL's OpenStudio Standards (the fork now is: BHRC standards.)

The generator builds the file successfully and then tests goes without error but when I replace the JSON files of OpenStudio with the one I have generated OpenStudio loads non of them and the Inspector loads empty.

What should I do?

Which JSON file are you replacing in OpenStudio? This one? If so, replacing that file would require you to rebuild OpenStudio since this is a resource that get's configured into the binaries, have you done that? We will be moving towards a more dynamic approach where the files are loaded at run time but the first implementation requires building the software.

@aparker has been doing a lot of work on the standards gem in the past week or so, and it's quite possible recent versions in the repo are broken. He told me yesterday that recent versions of the prototype building measure that are integrating the gem are definitely broken. That's always always a risk when pulling the tip from a repo under active development.

@ljbrackney actually I have fixed many stuff with the generator and my version works fine and I made a pull request (it's not something important, I just made it work on mac and added error handling when need also formatted the code so I could read. the pull request is still open. and generator works fine here) What I didn't know was the what @macumber just said. And I think sooner or later we have to have an OpenStudio fork so why not... Standards actually is not a risk. We know this and will update in parallel with the original repo.

@macumber thanks a lot! Sorry that I ask too much!

@macumber@ljbrackney

I've been asked about this and been wondering after this years, what is the state of possibly defining a whole new set of constructions/materials for the OpenStudio?
