import IFC file from Revit to Openstudio 8.0 via SketchUp

I have tried to import the IFC file (2X3 coordination view 2.0) of different type of buildings into Sketchup Pro 2015. The imported file looks great in SketchUp with no missing elements but the Openstudio plugin can not recognize the surfaces and spaces. it means the number of surfaces is zero.

I tried to do the same process with gbXML file and the surfaces was recognized by Openstudio and Inspector in Sketchup shows all the surfaces and spaces.

What is the problem? Are the problems related to the Revit (as exporter) or Sketchup and Openstudio (as importer)? What is the solution for IFC files?

Thanks Aida

When you import an IFC into SketchUp it is like you have drawn all the geometry in SketchUp to begin with. OpenStudio does not take a SketchUp model and automatically convert it to an OpenStudio model. It may be possible to use the attributes imported from IFC to automatically convert the SketchUp model to OpenStudio but this has not been done nor is it planned. This tutorial shows how to import an IFC to OpenStudio via BimServer.
