My building is an off-grid building and I need to assign that some components just work when the battery state of charge is higher than a certain threshold. How can I define that in Energyplus.

There is no way to do this with native controllers. EnergyPlus does not have the notion of separate critical circuits.

What you could do is use EMS. Monitor the state of charge with an EMS Sensor. Then override availability schedules and the like to shut down those components and systems that are not critical when the state of charge drops too low.

Is there any EnergyPlus example file, doing the same? I am not familiar with the EMS. Thanks

@Navid: There may or may not be an example covering what you are looking for but please have a look at EMS Application Guide in documents folder, it has a range of example applications. Just wanted add, the output variables listed in your .rdd file can be used as EMS sensors.
