I am currently working in equest making several energy models at the wizard level. Occasionally when I'm working in the wizard and I hit the finish button instead of loading the BD file an error pops up that says, "Error opening file: blahblah.pd2" and then there's nothing in the file. If I hit the wizard button it brings up the prompt for starting a new building. If I check the pd2 file in windows explorer it shows an empty file, 0.0 kilobytes. This has only happened to me with eQuest 3.5, not previous versions, and it happens about 1 in every 10 models. I have tried reinstalling, including deleting all of the equest files from my computer but nothing has stopped this from happening. Anyone have any suggestions? Anyone else experienced this? I've lost several hours of work to it now, so I'd love to get it resolved.

Most of the times, setting the compatibility mode to Windows XP fixes this problem (right click on eQuest executable -> properties -> compatibility tab) . Look at the eQuest-users list for details on how to set the compatibility mode.
