Clarify between Unmet Hours, Github issues and User Voice sites
For Openstudio, there are now three places where one can post, and I fear this is confusing to many, me included.
My understanding, in broad lines, is as follows:
Github issues
: for bugs in the softwareUser Voice
: for feature requestsUnmet Hours
: for everything else not covered above, including but not limited to getting help doing something
Thing is, the GitHub issues still have "feature request" as a tag, which is leading to some confusion. The user voice site also doesn't appear to have a ton of traction which would make it tempting to post somewhere else so it gets noticed.
Can you clarify how and when to use each of these sites?
Maybe an example would help in illustrating the problem...
I'm getting increasingly frustrated by the fact that the PAT tool removes all design alternatives when you add a new measure group.
Should I consider this:
A bug and post it to
Github
?Rationale: it makes absolutely no sense to me that adding a new group would delete the existing design alternatives.
As a feature request and post it to
User Voice
?Rationale: it'd like this to be turned off in future version, I'd like the PAT tool to be smarter about this.
As getting help and post it to
Unmet Hours
?Rationale: is it possible to turn off this behavior or to use a workaround?
Wouldn't it be clever if when a post has
openstudio
andbug
tags here it got added as a bug on GitHub :-)You should post that as a feature request to the
uservoice
site! You mean the one I posted last week here? :)
Actually, that was directed at @JamieBull's suggestion.
@__AmirRoth__ Assume it was meant in jest, as mine was! But seriously, is that where we should post feature requests for UnmetHours?
