How to control the Outdoor Air flow rate in EnergyPlus?

asked 9 years ago

I built a model with the CAV system. The outdoor air flow rate is 20m3/h-person on the cooling and heating season. The transition season is set to the full outdoor air(about 5.1m3/s), the minmum outdoor air fraction is 1, but the indoor temperature is too high yet. So I want to know how can I make the outdoor air folw rate improve to the AHU Fan maxmum flow rate(9.685m3/s).image description image description

You can control the OA quantity in the OutdoorAirController. I think that might have been what you were refering to in your questions but i am not sure. If you look at proportional minimum and fixed minimum and how those items work (check the input output reference guide) it might help you to control the outdoor air as you want it to. I would check all the controls in that object in the i/o reference guide as I think what you need is in there.

So reading through your comment again, i think you might need to use the economizer portion of the OA controller. There are various settings for the economizer but it seems that that is basically what you want to do.

I test my model again. I find the maximum supply flow rate can reach 5.1 only, so no matter how I set the OA controller the outdoor air flow rate reach 5.1 only. If the CAV system can realize my purpose?
