Sketchup 2015 has been released by Trimble. I have been using the 2014 version with the Openstudio 1.5 plug-in. I was able to install the Legacy Openstudio 1.11 plug-in to the 2015 version but not the Openstudio 1.5. Looks like we have to wait until NREL releases an Openstudio version compatible with Sketchup 2015 version. Does anybody has updated status of this or know a way to install the Openstudio 1.5 plug-in to make it work with Sketchup 2015?

Thank you!

I'm not familiar with SU 2015 yet, are there improvements that you need for OpenStudio?

The improvement that I see is in the Sketchup 2015 itself, not the Openstudio plug-in. Sketchup 2015 has a version for 64-bit Windows platforms which is not the case for older versions. So I would like to test it with the Openstudio 1.5 plug-in.

OpenStudio 1.5.0 will not work work with the 64 bit version of SketchUp 2015. OpenStudio 1.6.0 will but you will have to take care to install the 64 bit version of OpenStudio if you want to use the 64 bit version of SketchUp.

We just added SketchUp 2015 support to OpenStudio yesterday - Starting with v1.5.3 (due late next week), the 32-bit OpenStudio installer will install the plugin for 32-bit SketchUp 2015, and the 64-bit installer will install the plugin for 64-bit SketchUp 2015.

OpenStudio versions 1.4.1 through 1.5.2 are compatible with 32-bit SketchUp 2015, but you have to copy the plugin manually from the 2014 directory to the 2015 one:

C:\ProgramData\SketchUp\SketchUp 2014\SketchUp\Plugins
  to
C:\ProgramData\SketchUp\SketchUp 2015\SketchUp\Plugins

Any word on that release of an OpenStudio version that will be compatible with SketchUp 2015 and is 64-bit? I just downloaded OpenStudio 1.5.3 thinking this was going to be work but instead got the following error message:

32-bit OpenStudio is incompatible with 64-bit SketchUp 2015. The OpenStudio SketchUp Plug-in will not be installed.

Any helpful input will be greatly appreciated!

@Enrique Sorry about that, we're working on getting the 64-bit Windows installer listed on the main website. However, it can be downloaded from the GitHub release:

@Alex Swindler Thank you so much! That worked perfectly!

@Alex Swindler I have downloaded the 64-bit version of OS 1.5.3 for the github link you posted above (thanks for that!) but am still having issues with my 64-bit SketchUp 15. When I try to open SketchUp, I get an "Error loading OpenStudio SketchUp Plug-In: 193: %1 is not a valid Win32 application. - C:/Program Files (x86)/OpenStudio1.5.0/Ruby/openstudio/openstudioutilitiescore.so" . This happens when I use "Select OpenStudio Version" and select 1.5.3.

@Aaron Boranian It looks like SketchUp 2015 (64-bit) is only finding OpenStudio v1.5.0 (32-bit). Try copying the contents of "C:\Program Files\OpenStudio 1.5.3\Ruby\Plugins" to "C:\ProgramData\SketchUp\SketchUp 2015\SketchUp\Plugins" (Or simply reinstall v1.5.3 64-bit). Both of those should replace the v1.5.0 files.

I should mention that if that doesn't work, then it's likely finding the v1.5.0 plugin in an alternate Plugins directory (SketchUp has 3) and that can override the ProgramData location. You can find the other locations here: http://goo.gl/Jo3dQu

I downloaded Openstudio version 1.5.3 and installed it. It works perfect with Sketchup 2015. However, if you have installed Sketchup 2014 at the same time, you have to keep another version of Openstudio in your system. I have both 1.5.2 and 1.5.3 versions installed. Version 1.5.2 works with Sketchup 2014. That's the way I'm working right now and I am doing fine. Hope this helps other folks.

I followed these steps but when I install OS, I get the following error: "Unable to locate your sketchup 2014 installation..." I don't have SU2014, I installed SU2015. What's the next step to get this to work?

Nevermind. Installing OSv1.5.5 from the developers section of the site seems to have worked. (https://www.openstudio.net/developers)
