VFD Chiller Curves for OS and E

asked 2015-08-13 12:50:58 -0600

Does anyone have a good source of VFD chiller curves or have some VFD chiller curves for E+ or OpenStudio? I am looking for air-cooled and water-cooled VFD chiller curves and can't find any in the E+ Data Sets.

There are some in the E+ datasets, at least as of version 8.3. They have last in name "VSD" which stands for Variable Speed Drive, a synonym of VFD

Thanks Julien, it looks like there are a lot of options for water-cooled chillers in the E+ datasets, but no air-cooled VSD chillers in the data sets. Do you know of any air-cooled VSD curves?

The file Chillers.idf only has water-cooled chillers, and it's written it was collected from 1991 to 2001. The file AirCooledChiller.idf has air-cooled chillers, but none have "VSD" in the name. Also, I haven't looked each model number in detail, but the ones I recognize are definitely not VSD. I see some models that are as recent as 2012, but I don't think there are more recent ones, so it might just be that air-cooled VSD chillers weren't common back then?
