Hi everyone, I'm facing a serious issue with my OpenStudio model and would appreciate any help.

I created a two-story university building with a complex shape in SketchUp using the OpenStudio plugin. Everything was working fine yesterday, and I made multiple backups of the model. However, today when I opened the same .osm file in SketchUp, the model appears only as a wireframe. When I go to View > Face Style > Shaded with Textures, it shows a typical SketchUp model — not the OpenStudio geometry with editable spaces.

However, when I open the same file in the OpenStudio Application, all the thermal zones and spaces are visible in the OSM structure. I also checked with the OSM Diagnostic Tool, and it still shows the correct objects. But I can no longer edit the geometry in SketchUp, and none of the backup files load correctly either.

For context, I had recently used the "Intersect and Surface Matching" measure in OpenStudio to fix some surface intersection problems.

Has anyone experienced this issue before? Is there a way to recover the editable geometry in SketchUp, or convert this back to a usable form? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried a quick EnergyPlus simulation (e.g. 1-day, IdealLoads mode)? Most geometry issues would be caught by EnergyPlus (check the generated .err file). I'd fix those if any. Then retry with the SU Plugin.

Otherwise, consider sharing the .osm file.
