modify weather file in doe prototype buildings
I’m working with DOE prototype buildings and had a question about modifying them. Am I allowed to use a prototype building that matches my ASHRAE climate zone, but substitute in a weather file specific to my actual project location? When I tried this, I received several severe errors during the simulation.
Do I need to make any adjustments in the IDF file to make this work—like modifying the system sizing parameters, design days, or ground temperatures? I’m not sure what parts of the model need to be updated when changing the weather file, and I’d appreciate any guidance.
