Trace 3D Plus Schedule Recommendations

I was wondering how other designers here create occupancy schedules for Trace 3D Plus.

Based on this video from Trane Trace on the Trane 700 software, it seems that different percentages should be assumed for the Cooling Design schedules versus the weekday, Saturday and Sunday schedules. However in the built-in Trace 3D Plus 90.1 schedules, the Cooling Design schedules are always 100%, with separate weekday, Saturday and Sunday schedules. The other native Trane created built-in schedules, usually have something like 10-15% for 7pm to 7am and then 100% from 7am to 7pm (for example), not 100% for the whole day.

What is the logic behind Trane's decision to do this? If I wanted to run my heat load models more in line with how they are run on OpenStudio, DesignBuilder, etc., should I also create schedules with Cooling Design schedules that are not just 100% (e.g. midnight to midnight 100%) all the time?

Would love some input on this! I am trying to create schedules out of the document by the Oak Ridge National Laboratory, titled Occupancy Schedule Development and its Effect on OpenStudio Prototype College Building Model. I found the document here, on the U.S. DOE Office of Scientific and Technical Information website. There seem to be other studies and reports that I am trying to create schedules out of for use in Trace 3D Plus.

Edit: If I don't receive feedback on this question, I am going to assume that Trace 3D Plus had good reason to program the 90.1 schedules to have 100% Cooling Design schedules, so I'll do the same.

Edit 2: Reading through the E+ Input-Output Documentation on Schedules, I am having a hard time understanding the correlation between the Cooling Design schedule in Trace 3D Plus and EnergyPlus. In OpenStudio, I think would define a temperature setpoint schedule, potentially incorporating, unoccupied setbacks and whatnot, and then utilize typical occupancy for that space. It seems that Trace 3D Plus overwrites that with the Cooling Design schedule?
