In EnergyPlus, Shading:Overhang and Shading:Fin documentation, the I/O reference states that at tilt of 90 degrees means that the fin projects from the building at an angle of 90 degrees from the window. It also states that angles between 0 and 180 are accepted.

If a fin or overhang as a tilt of 45, does that mean the fin / overhang is encroaching on the window as in the attached C:\fakepath\Screenshot 2025-03-21 114610.jpgimage?

Hi Karen, I think your image is correct. In designbuilder, I don't have an input field for angle option for side fins or overhangs. Only for louvres. Using design builder help:

for louvres: https://designbuilder.co.uk/helpv7.0/...

for fins: https://designbuilder.co.uk/helpv7.0/...

for overhangs: https://designbuilder.co.uk/helpv7.0/...
