Hi,

I've been using HAMT simulation within E+. I've noticed that the initial water content in the run period is not what I defined in the IDF.

In the example below, the starting water content ratio is below 0.3, the value I defined in the IDF. My guess is that it changed after the warm-up period.

Has anyone run into the same issue? And how have you solved this?

Hi. Have you tried adapting your boundary conditions? I.e. increase surrounding moisture content so that the material does not dry out?

Thanks for your reply. No, I haven't. But I just intend to have the initial water content as defined without changing other environmental settings.

Hi. The HAMT model lets materials immediately adapt to their surroundings (here in terms of moisture). Therefore, the moisture content will change in each simulation step, if equilibrium according to the sorption-isotherm is not met. Are you looking at all the simulation data? I.e. including the warm-up? You write "changed after the warmup". Probably it changes during the warmup. Therefore my initial question / suggestion.
