air distribution effectiveness schedule

I designed an air distribution effectiveness schedule for my VAV model. The energy plus documentation suggests that if I specify a schedule, it overrides fixed heating and cooling air distribution effectiveness. but I got no change in my consumption result, as it should increase my loads.
