surface temperature as control variable

I’m wondering if it’s possible to operate the ideal loads air system based on wall surface temperature, rather than zone air temperature. Specifically, I’d like the system to operate when the wall surface temperature is outside the desired range, regardless of the resulting air temperature.

I tried using EMS to modify the controls, but it seems those variables cannot be used as inputs to the ideal loads air system.

If anyone has suggestions or ideas, I’d greatly appreciate your help in advance.

Thank you so much!

One approach is to use EMS to modify the setpoint temperature of the zone based on the wall temperature.

The actuator is:

EnergyManagementSystem:Actuator Available,ZONE NAME,Zone Temperature Control,Heating Setpoint,[C]

This would allow any equipment, not just IdealLoads to operate based on wall temperature.

Alternately you may want to look at the ZoneControl:Thermostat:OperativeTemperature object to see if this can do what you need without using EMS.
