In the App, go to Shading Controls in the Subsurfaces sub-tab (Spaces tab). You can follow the steps in Neil Bulger's nice video. Here, I'm simply relying on the shading material/control that comes with Openstudio.
You could instead follow the Plugin steps in this OpenStudio Coalition tutorial.
Finally, one can always script an SDK-based solution.
