Revision history [back]

Unless it is a very small building, the building should be modelled with more than one zone. Different exposures (north, south, east, west) will experience different loads at different times of day, and the core spaces will experience different loads from the perimeter spaces. These differences in loads should be reflected in the zoning layout.

The activity areas allocation will then allocate the internal loads and gains to each zone depending on how you have constructed your zoning. It is not intended to replace zoning and you still need to break down each floor into various zones.
