Hi! I'm doing it with python, you can download a library called "eppy" that can manage the IDF file with objects.
With Matlab I found mle+ (http://mlab.seas.upenn.edu/projectsites/mlep/): it has a GUI but in my opinion it's easier to do it with a script.
