The problem was related to the NVIDIA graphics processor on this computer. The NVIDIA application auto-selects a graphics processor for different applications, but it appeared to fail to do this correctly for OpenStudio and BEopt. To fix this, we opened the NVIDIA Control Panel, navigated to “3D Settings” --> “Manage 3D Settings,” and selected the “Program Settings” tab. In that view, under item 1, we selected the program to customize, and under 2, we switched from “Use global settings (Auto-select: Integrated)” to “High-performance NVIDIA processor.” We repeated these steps for OpenStudio and BEopt. Thank you to Andrew and other colleagues for helping to solve this.
