Many of the School and Office AEDG measures, like ones that alter internal loads and lighting apply space type specific recommendations, so if you ran them on another building type they would not make any changes. For the Office AEDG HVAC measures, the same system type is applied throughout the building; as a result it doesn't check space types when applying the system. So it should run on a different building type, but may not produce an appropriate system type for that building, but you could use it as a starting point and then modify it as needed. The K12 AEDG HVAC measures are a little different. I believe they are setup to add a secondary system type to space types like the Kitchen and Gym, but then spaces not specifically called out get a primary system type.
If you run the AEDG HVAC measures on a model with no HVAC elements the measure will build it up from scratch. If you run them on a model that already has an HVAC system it should remove everything, and will re-build it up, but I believe it will look at what zones were on air loops together in the original model, and attempts to respect that, vs. the typical default of one air loop per floor for the primary system.
