This is related to the "grid view" capability that was added throughout the application in release 1.9.0. The spaces tab contains a great deal of information that is being polled from the model for display in that tab, and a delay is typical when that information is being retrieved. The larger your model, the longer this can take. That said, the team has been profiling this portion of the code and will performance improvements will be included in release 1.10.0.
