OpenStudio does not support changing the IDD file at runtime the same way that EnergyPlus does. This is because the OpenStudio.idd is read at compile time and built into the OpenStudio binaries. If the OpenStudio IDD values are too restrictive, I would file an issue on the OpenStudio github issues page.
