Revision history [back]

Hey @glbrown, thanks for playing around with TBD !

We're about to release v3.5.0 tomorrow (a handful of stress tests to run, on some of the funkier cases we've come across over time), so you may want to wait a day or two before making the switch. Up to you.

The preferred way to get TBD is always via BCL. In normal circumstances, BCL is automatically updated a few seconds after we publish a new release on GitHub. A few years ago, this automated task was occasionally unsuccessful. BCL staff have always been great in manually doing the updates when needed. But we've since kept the habit of offering downloadable packages (compressed .ZIP or .TAR.GZ files), just in case. Whether you download either compressed package, or access BCL, you'll kept the same TBD measure.

Questions 1 & 2: You can ignore both .ZIP and TAR.GZ compressed files. They're fallbacks, just in case - that's it. Stick to BCL.

Question 3: With every change we consider bringing in, TBD is systematically tested against multiple OpenStudio versions, from v3.2.1 to the latest OpenStudio release. We do the same with a separate testing repo.

image description

TBD adapts to the OpenStudio version you're using. So you can use the latest TBD release with OpenStudio v3.2.1.

I hope this answers your questions.
