Setting whole_sfa_or_mf_building_sim = true in the BuildExistingModel measure is not something that is currently supported/tested by ResStock. That line, and the downstream code that uses it, should be considered a precursor for a ResStock feature that has not yet been officially implemented. (I should probably include a disclaimer comment about this under the "# Optional whole SFA/MF building simulation" line.)
That said, I just tried running Building ID = 1 with whole_sfa_or_mf_building_sim = true for the national project (43-unit Multi-Family building) using workflow/run_analysis.rb. The workflow/simulation was successful, and energy use results have an approximate 43x relative the whole_sfa_or_mf_building_sim = false energy use results.
