Certainly not a definitive answer ...

I'd start with:

  • basic intro here
  • then maybe search YouTube for "OpenStudio Tutorial" playlists - there's a bunch of them

Once warmed up:

  • open any of the OSM files under OpenStudio-Resources' simulationtests folder that may be of interest to you
  • follow the logic/sequence of steps in the Ruby/Python scripts that generated selected OSMs of interest
  • try to reproduce these steps using the OpenStudio Application

You can also try out BCL "Whole System" measures.
