Q1: There is already a variable speed fan Unitary System object in the default library, so I am not sure why you are trying model a VAV fan separately: Q2: I tried to recreate your problem, but encountered another one. This will have to be resolved before the system will work at the AirLoop or zone level:https://github.com/NREL/OpenStudio/issues/5389 ....alternatively, you could manually create the necessary connections or write a measure to create the connections.
