Hello good people, I have a system running on VRF system. I changed the terminal fan from On/Off to fan:System model because i wanted to apply variable speed operation/multiple speed to the fan air supply. The system is working and the mass flow rate variation is available in .eso. However the system doesn't calculate fan energy in that regard. does anyone have an idea how to go past it? Either by incorporating a new technique or how to calculate the energy.

@alfred.levison can you be more specific about "the system doesn't calculate fan energy in that regard"? Are you not seeing fan energy results in the table reports file, the .eso time-series file, or both? What table report sections and/or .eso output variables/meters are you checking?

@Aaron Boranian. I have enabled the fan energy results in the output variables, in fact other fans are showing the energy consumed including the one I am interested in, BUT the consumption is zero despite the fan working at length and showing the air mass flowrates. The others are showing the energy consumed properly. However, when i change the fan type back to on/off type, it clearly shows the energy used at constant speed. This takes us back to the problem, I am interested in the energy used at multi-speed operation. (Apologies, I could have uploaded a photo, but i have no enough points)

@alfred.levison you should have enough karma points to upload an image if you edit your original post.

Can you upload your model to Google Drive, Dropbox, etc. and then share a URL for others to download? That would help others provide better solutions.
