steady state energy balance

I’m trying to perform a steady-state energy balance analysis and compare the results with EnergyPlus outputs. In my setup, all internal schedules are constant throughout the year. Conceptually, I expect the hourly energy use to follow something like:

Energy use=𝑃 elec load+𝑈𝐴Δ𝑇+𝑚˙𝐶𝑝Δ𝑇+m˙ℎ𝑓𝑔Δw /COP I’d like to understand:

How does EnergyPlus internally handle or does the energy balance at each time step?Has anyone tried to reproduce or verify the EnergyPlus energy balance externally using this type of simplified steady-state formulation?
