Whenever I import a CAD file and then save through the save button on the Open Studio extension in Sketch the geometry is saved that I create using the Create Space button however the imported CAD or image disappears whenever I reopen the file again. I'm using Sketchup 2021 and Openstudio version 1.7

That's because the different layer between Sketchup and Openstudio. Actually all actions through Open Studio Plugin will only modify the osm file and will not save in skp file. The improted CAD file can be saved in skp file through Sketchup save function but cannot save in osm file.

I strongly recommend you save osm file and import CAD again, the easy way to locate is to choose a base point in openstudio model and move the drawing. If you save CAD in skp and reopen it, the plugin will ask you reinput the path of openstudio application and clean all preview model on openstudio layer. Trust me you will never want to see that.
