How to connect Zone Water-to-Air Heat Pump to individual zones instead of a Zone Group in DesignBuilder?

Hello, I am trying to model a baseline data center HVAC system in DesignBuilder using Zone Water-to-Air Heat Pumps (WSHPs) connected to a Condenser Water Loop with a Cooling Tower.

The issue is that whenever I add a WSHP, the software connects it at the Zone Group level instead of linking it to each individual zone (e.g., Server Hall, Office, UPS) separately.

My questions are:

How can I assign a WSHP to each individual zone rather than the entire group?

Is there a way in the Target tab or elsewhere to force the WSHP connection to “This HVAC Zone only”?

If the model only allows connection at Zone Group level, does this affect the validity of results when analyzing each zone separately?

Hi

In DesignBuilder the HVAC zone groups help streamline HVAC system design by grouping zones with the same type of equipment setup. Even if the equipment ratings differ, you only need to define one set of equipment and one set of connections for the whole group.

When data is written to the EnergyPlus IDF file prior to simulation, all constituent zones, zone equipment and zone equipment connections are written out separately.
